The main reasons cause of damage to the idler assy are as follows:

1. The bi-metal sleeve sliding bearing of theidler assyhas excessive non-axiality, which causes vibration and impact when running on the crawler track.
2. The surface roughness of the idler shaft is extremely poor.
3. There are defects in the original structure.
4. The lubricating oil in the gap between the idlershaft and the shaft sleeve cannot take away the heat generated by the bearing operation because there is no oil passage, causing the operating temperature of the bearing to increase, the viscosity of the lubricating oil to decrease, and the thickness of the lubricating oil film to decrease.
